Installation Instructions

 

  To install VOYAGER, follow these steps:

If you are installing the program on a Network, visit the TRAINING section and select "Installing Voyager on a Network."

Exit all programs that are currently running.

Insert theVOYAGER installation CD in your PC’s CD-ROM drive.

The installation program should run automatically. (If the installation program does not begin, then the Autorun feature might be disabled. To manually begin the installation procedure, use the Add/Remove Programs option in the Windows Control Panel.)

If your Windows 95/98 display is set to 256 colors, VOYAGER displays a Warning dialog box indicating that viewing quality will be greatly enhanced by selecting the High Color (16 bit) setting in Windows 95.

Next, the installation program displays the Welcome dialog box. Click Next.

The installation program now asks what type of install your would like to perform, "All files" or "Custom" Click Next. (If you choose CUSTOM the installation program will prompt you to choose which parts of Voyager you would like installed. This is only used if you specificly do not need a particular part of Voyager like pictures or a database)

The installation program displays the Choose Destination Directory dialog box. This dialog box identifies the subdirectory in which the VOYAGER program files will be stored. Click Next.

The installation program displays the Choose Database Directory dialog box. This dialog box identifies the subdirectory in which the listing database will be stored. If you are not using a network, accept the default setting or select the appropriate directory and click Next. (This window will still appear even if you unchecked "Database" in the Custom Install window.)

If you are storing the database on a network server, select the appropriate network subdirectory and click Next.

The installation program displays the Choose Picture Directory dialog box. This dialog box identifies the subdirectory in which the listing pictures will be stored. If you are not using a network, accept the default setting or select the appropriate directory and click Next. (This window will still appear even if you unchecked "Pictures" in the Custom Install window.)

If you are storing the pictures on a network server, select the appropriate network subdirectory and click Next.

The installation program displays the Choose E-Mail Directory dialog box. This dialog box identifies the subdirectory in which your e-mail messages will be stored. If you are not using a network, accept the default setting or select the appropriate directory and click Next. (This window will still appear even if you unchecked "Email" in the Custom Install window.) NOTE: This is not the same as your typical email that you use outside of Voyager. This is only for messaging within the Board or MLS that you are a member of.

If you are storing the Email Directory on a network server, select the appropriate network subdirectory and click Next.

The installation program displays the Voyager Extras dialog box. Select the options you want to install and click Next.

Note:

This installation procedure installs the full program with complete data.

Accessing VOYAGER - To access VOYAGER, follow these steps: Double-click the icon that displays on your Windows desktop.

In the dialog box shown below, enter your ID number. Press the TAB key. Enter your codeword. When you are finished, click OK.

The Voyager - Home Base main menu displays.
