  RISCO History VISTAinfo (Boris, Moore DMS) History
 

Spring, 1978 - First meeting with Johnson County (KS) Board of REALTOR® leadership.

Summer, 1979 - Johnson County agrees to have RISCO (then EBE) write some programs to handle their MLS needs.

Fall, 1979 - First RISCO MLS system installed.

Summer, 1980 - RISCO incorporated as Realty Information Systems Company. Until this date, RISCO was a division of Electronic Business Equipment, Inc. (EBE). Original ownership consisted of Jerry Cohen, Warren Koeller and Dunigan Trust (a family trust located in Abilene, TX).

Fall, 1981 - RISCO entered into an agreement with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) whereby NAR sold RISCO MLS systems. This agreement lasted for three years, ending in the Fall of 1984.

Winter, 1984 - RISCO moved into its first headquarters, merged with BE Lansing, Inc. (computer leasing company) and Garry Wright joined the ownership group.

Fall, 1986 - RISCO bought out Dunigan Trust's interest. Howard Jacobson and Steve Muehlberger joined the ownership group.

Summer, 1987 - Formed RISCO Publishing, Inc. and started printing MLS books.

Spring, 1988 - Moved to first company-owned building (10,400 square feet).

Winter, 1994 - Realty Information Systems Company and RISCO Publishing merged and named the company RISCO.

Summer, 1995 - Formed RISCO Lockbox, Inc. to sell used and refurbished lock boxes, located in El Paso, TX.

Spring, 1997 - Purchased Compulist Corporation, a competing MLS company located in Macomb, IL.

Fall, 1997 - Moved RISCO Lockbox and Compulist operation to new Lenexa, KS facility (33,600 square feet).

1998 - Galaxy, RISCO's first Internet-based MLS system was installed for the Greater Cape May AoR and Boise sites.

Spring, 1998 - Moved RISCO operation to new (current) facility.

Summer, 1998 - RISCO acquires the assets of Multacc Corporation and moves the PCR and Redikey lock box system from Torrance, CA to Lenexa, KS.

Fall, 1998 - Signed Alliance Agreement with Yardi, Inc. (a competing MLS company located in Santa Barbara, CA) to convert all their existing MLS customers, at the customer's option, to the RISCO MLS system.

Winter, 1998 - Company Vice Presidents Grant Wright, Tim Harrison, Mark Brown and Richard Jacobson become RISCO shareholders.

Spring, 2000 - Sold all companies to iProperty.com, a start-up company located in Bloomington, IN.

May, 2001 - Sold RISCO to Fidelity National Financial, Inc., the industry's largest provider of title insurance and diversified real estate-related services, located in Irvine, CA.

August, 2001 - RISCO is merged with Fidelity National Information Solutions, Inc.

     

1955 - Moore Data Management Services began printing the sheet system for the Minneapolis Board of REALTORS.

1970 - Began Supplying MLS books.

1977 - Realtrieve, an online MLS system was introduced, followed by an upgrade to Ramble, allowing remarks search using a thesaurus. Following this, on-line photos and search count capabilities were added. Phoenix was introduced shortly after as the next generation MLS system. Phoenix later became known as Compass.

1979 - 1981 - The Traverse City Board of REALTORS® and a local data center develop the Board of Realty Information System (BORIS) to provide an on-line MLS system.

1982 - The principles retained the rights to resell BORIS to other boards of real estate. Boris Systems, Inc., a division of PGS (Professional Guidance Systems) was incorporated in Lansing, MI. The MLS software was called Master System.

1983 - Introduced the first Listing History module.

June, 1984 - Held the first public demonstration of on-line photos.

July, 1985 - Installed the first Photolist MLS software with on-line photos.

March, 1987 - Boris Systems, Inc. moved its headquarters to East Lansing, MI.

July, 1987 - Installed the first Photocom software which allowed PC's to retrieve photos, in South Bend, IN.

1987 - Installed the first MLS Integrated Tax system.

February, 1988 - Installed the first Photolist II site, using specialized photo terminals in Rock Island, IL.

November, 1988 - held the first public demo of Laser Book, an application to print a master copy of the MLS with photos from the on-line Master System.

February, 1993 - Boris Systems, Inc. becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Norwest Mortgage and retains the name of Boris Systems, Inc.

1993 - Installed the first Maestro (Unix-based) system in Battle Creek, MI ona SUN Microsystems platform.

October 1, 1996 - Boris Systems, Inc. becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Moore Data Management Services, Inc.

1998 - Moore's first Internet-based MLS system, RE/Xplorer, was first installed for Northeast Florida MLS and Metro Listing Service in Atlanta.

January 1, 2000 - Moore Data Management Services becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of VISTA Information Solutions, Inc. and is renamed to VISTA DMS, Inc.

February, 2000 - VISTAinfo launches new lines of Internet-based real estate solutions - RE/Professional, RE/Commercial and RE/Consumer.

March, 2000 - VISTAinfo provides U.S. real estate industry with access to environmental information on Canadian properties.

July 1999 - Announced the forming of the HomeSeekers MLS Division. Hired Ira Luntz and Todd Colthorp, two former BORIS principles to run it.

October 1999 - Acquired Terradatum and five accounts that were in the process of installin MLSweb

November 1999 - Acquired Imco, with its 35 smaller Midwestern MLS accounts.

November 1999 - Introduced XMLSweb at the NAR convention.

Spring 2000 - Signed Manatee, Mid-Hudson, East Bay and Sarasota MLS. Completed XMLSweb version 7.0.

Fall 2000 - Signed MLSNI, BAREIS and NORIS MLS's. Installed Manatee and Mid-Hudson.

Winter 2000 - Signed the Douglas Elliman Company and The Corcoran Group to a joint contract to provide MLS services to the two largest brokers in Manhattan known as Deco.

Winter 2000 - Signed Westchester and Heart of Kentucky MLS'. Installed XMLSweb in Sarasota, FL.

Spring 2001 - Signed several Imco accounts to convert to XMLSweb. Signed Bloomington-Normal. Converted NORIS with great success.

Summer 2001 - Signed Park City. Converted MLSNI. Installed MLS Plus in NORIS. XMLSweb now available to over 100,000 agents.

Fall 2001 - Fidelity National Information Solutions acquires HomeSeekers' MLS Division.

    October 2001 - MLS Systems Division announces the availability of Paragon™ and Paragon™ Offline, its new online MLS with best in industry functionality.
